Let’s cut to the chase, if you have installed Windows 11 and you play Valorant, then this article will be very helpful for you because I wouldn’t want you to scramble your head for hours thinking why you are not able to play Valorant on your freshly installed Windows 11 operating system so let’s not waste our time and let me help you all the right way.

Here we go,

List of the issues I faced while running VALORANT on Windows 11 :

  1. The pop-up error “This build of vanguard requires TPM version 2.0 and secure boot to be enabled in order to play” while opening the game.
  2. Valorant error code “VAN 9001” after opening the game.

Steps we will follow to fix the issue and set up Valorant for Windows 11 :

  1. Enable TPM from “Local Group Policy Editor” in Windows 11.
  • Also Fixing — Not able to find Group Policy Editor in Windows 11

3. Enabling Secure Boot on your system.

  • Entering the BIOS menu of your system and enabling Secure Boot and TPM.
  • Also Fixing — Not being able to enable Secure Boot in ASUS powered systems.

Step 1 : Enable TPM from “Local Group Policy Editor” in Windows 11.

  • Open Run window by pressing “Windows Key + R” on your keyboard
  • Type “gpedit.msc” and hit Enter or click Ok.

— Now if you get an error right here and somehow you are not able to open Local Group Policy Editor in Windows 11, then you need to make sure that you are running the Professional version of Windows 11 as other versions of Windows 11 like Home, do not contain Local Group Policy Editor as it is made for the general public and use.

  • After the Local Group Policy Editor window is opened, select Administrative Template under Computer Configuration from the left column.
  • Select Windows Components from the right column.
  • Then select BitLocker Device Encryption from the list in the right column.
  • Select Operating System Drives from the next list
  • Now double click on “Require additional authentication at startup” to open a new window.
  • Make sure it is Enabled from the top.
  • And also check the box “Allow BitLocker without a compatible TPM
  • Next, set Configure TPM startup, Configure TPM startup PIN, Configure TPM startup key and Configure TPM startup key and PIN to Allow.
  • Hit Apply, click Ok and Restart your system.

Step 2 : Enabling Secure Boot on your system.

  • Enter the BIOS menu on your system

— If you are not sure how to enter the BIOS menu of your device, you can simply google it out, how to enter BIOS menu of xyz Laptop/PC.

— The interface may vary for different system so make sure you are only looking for the options you need/mentioned below.

  • Go to Advanced Settings/Security and you should be looking for Secure Boot options.
  • Enable Secure Boot from the options.

— If you are on ASUS powered laptops/pc and you are not able to enable Secure Boot from the options then you need to make sure that “Secure Boot Control” is set to as Enabled first, then restart your system and come back to the same menu again. Now you will see there will be something called “Key Management” click on that and inside that you will see 5 keys.

Platform Key(PK), Key Exchange Keys, Authorized Signatures, Forbidden Signatures, Authorized TimeStamps.

All you have to do is click on each one of them and UPDATE each one of the keys.

  • Save and Exit the BIOS menu and restart your system.

Conclusion :

After following all these steps you will be able to play Valorant back again but this time on your freshly installed Windows 11 operating system.

Thank You!
